São Bento Station

This large station is the departure or arrival point (depending on the destination) for all railway lines in Northern Portugal. Located in Praça Almeida Garrett, it opened on October 5, 1916.

It's considered one of the most beautiful stations in the world thanks to its granite construction and tiled interior. The colorful friezes tell the history of transportation in chronological order, up to the advent of the train, and also depict figures and events from the history of the North of the country.

House of Music

With its sculptural and pointed appearance, the Casa da Música is located on Avenida da Boavista overlooking the gardens of Rotunda da Boavista. It was designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.
